Rev. Dr. Jane Pan Pastor | 陈可燕牧师
Rev. Dr. Jane Pan was born in Beijing, China, to a Chinese father from Liaoning, Dongbei, and a Japanese mother from Kyuxiu, Japan. She was educated in Taiwan until 5th grade, and went to a Missionary school at Okinawa until she graduated high school. Through missionaries, she was led to Christ at the age of 12 and baptized in the local Nazarine Church at the age of 16. She felt the call of God even at her teen years and led some of her classmates to Christ. When she came to North Carolina in January 1970, she attended Peace College and then transferred to NC State where she majored in psychology as an undergraduate. She married Robert F. Pan, a graduate student at NCSU studying engineering. He was later baptized by Dr. John Lawrence at Forest Hills Baptist Church. Jane was working as a Physician Assistant at Duke when she heard the call for a full time ministry with the Chinese students from China. She led several daytime Bible studies group at E.S. King Village and at her home. With her husband Robert, they founded the Mainland Chinese Fellowship at Forest Hills Baptist Church in the late 80’s. They both worked full time serving the Lord in this fellowship while Robert still worked full time at IBM. Robert always said that his job with the company as an electrical engineer was an investment for providing their livelihood on earth, while their jobs as ministers were investments in the Kingdom of God in the salvation of souls. God blessed the Mainland Chinese Fellowship, which later grew to become the Chinese Baptist Church in 1997. Robert went to be with the Lord on January 2009 and Jane continues to serve as the Chinese Baptist Church pastor. Throughout her many years serving the Lord, she never regretted in giving up her job as Physician Assistant, spending countless hours in ministries or teaching and leading workshops on Marriage and Family Enrichment in America or overseas. As long as she breathes, she will continue to love and serve the One True God and Savior of the World! God is so good!
Dr. Chao Yang Peng Pastor | 彭召羊牧师
Dr. Chao Yang Peng came to know Christ at Princeton University in 1995. After graduation, he worked at the United Nations Development Programme in New York and the World Bank in Washington DC. He answered God’s call in 2005, and entered the China Evangelical Seminary North America and later Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in preparation for fulltime ministry. He is now a campus minister with Ambassadors for Christ, serving at universities in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina, where he has been reaching students, training disciples, growing fellowships, and planting church. In Thanksgiving 2011, he and his wife Xiaodong Wu were invited to assist Rev. Jane Pan in CBC’s campus ministry at North Carolina State University (NCSU). A new campus mission fellowship at CBC, “NCSU Chinese Fellowship”, was formed to provide a platform to reach students and scholars. Dr. Peng’s ministry at CBC includes caring and counseling students, teaching weekly Bible studies, organizing outreach events, sharing the Gospel, leading people to Christ, conducting discipleship, and building up leaders. As more and more believers return to China upon their completion of studies at NCSU, Dr. Peng has also been following up on returnees, helping them form returnee community groups to witness Christ at marketplaces and proclaim the Gospel in China.
Ai Shao Music Worship Director | 邵艾 音乐崇拜指挥
Right after I graduated from the elementary school came the Cultural Revolution. In 1970, I was then 15 years old and was sent by the government to do agricultural work in a farm located in Yunan. I was a farmer for a while and then joining the Art Troupe of Land Reclamation Bureau. A difficult path all the way. In 1978, then 24 years old, I returned to Shanghai. I began to complete my middle school and high school studies and worked part-time as well as going to school. I graduated from Shanghai University in 1984 and employed at Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute and Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. I came to America in 1998 and was baptized as a Christian in 1999. I remembered at that time I promised God that one day when I am retired, I will follow Him to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our God is a God who listens to prayers. In 2014 through Pastor Jane Pan’s leading and from God’s calling, I rededicated myself to God and obeyed His calling as a full- time worker for our Lord. God examined my gifts and now I am serving as a Music Worship leader in our church at Chinese Baptist Church. I am so happy and thankful that God gave me such gifts to serve Him and share such humble services with Brothers and Sisters of our church. God’s Grace is Sufficient!
